It is the goal of the Whitefish United Methodist Church to help children develop faith foundations; to know the Bible and its faith traditions, to relate to God and the Church, and to practice their faith in daily living.

We provide child care during worship services year-round in our nursery for children through age 4 or 5.

We also have Sunday school September through Father’s Day for children ages 4 through 13. This class meets after the pastor’s Children’s Message during the Sunday morning worship service through the end of the service. It is taught by many different volunteers from our congregation who are willing to both share their faith and learn from the faith of the children. Our current curriculum will cover New Testament stories and lessons over a timeframe of approximately 4 years. There is no better role model for our children than Jesus!

During the summer months, children gain exposure to the worship service, and children’s worship bulletins based on the lectionary Scriptures are provided in an activity packet. Childcare is still provided in the nursery for children of any age.

Every year the children present a children’s Christmas pageant at the 5 PM Christmas Eve service and one other Sunday in December. The pageants are designed so that all children are welcome to participate whether or not they are members or have ever attended Sunday school at Whitefish UMC.

We also celebrate Easter every year with a children’s Easter egg hunt after the 10:15 AM Easter service. As always, all are welcome to participate!
